Meet The Coach

Owner and Head Strength and Conditioning Trainer, Deon Henry started Rise Up Sports Performance to help train and develop athletes in his hometown of Denver, North Carolina.

Deon played football at Appalachian State University where he received his Bachelor’s of Science in Health Promotion/Exercise Science before going on to earn a USAW Sports Performance Coach certification. 

Throughout his professional and academic career he had the opportunity to work in many different settings related to exercise science. Because of this, he has been able to work with individuals ranging from young athletes to professional athletes. His passion for this field along with his knowledge is what has allowed this business to flourish.

Our Programs

F.A.S.T. CLASS

Designed to improve not just the athletes speed but core strength and explosiveness as well. Our focus is on Anaerobic and Aerobic conditioning. We bring a competitive spirit to class in an overall fun environment. Learn the building blocks now, so you can be great tomorrow! Its time too tighten your game for next season.

SPEED & AGILITY

At Rise Up, This program gives the athlete a comprehensive training approach. The athlete will be educated on training safety and the importance of a balance program.  Improve quickness and starting ability. Improve acceleration time. Increase stride length and stride frequency. Improve speed and endurance.

STRENGTH TRAINING

We can manipulate a training program that best fits the demands of your specific sport. This program gives athletes a comprehensive training approach. Athletes will be educated on training safety and the importance of a balance program.
We Also Offer:​​

ADULT & GROUP FITNESS

​These Workouts use multiple modalities including functional movement, cardio vascular endurance, as well as developing the core muscles. Adult  fitness workouts include strengthening and stretching in order to achieve overall muscular balance and core strength. Benefits also include injury prevention, improves posture and alignment, breath awareness, as well as overall strength and flexibility.

​These dynamic workouts incorporate strengthening all the major muscle groups while paying particular attention to the engaging core and abdominal muscles. These quick-paced workouts include cardio intervals allowing for maximum calorie burning.
